SUBLIMATION PRINTING

This quick and effective digital print method is growing in popularity. It is excellent for a variety of surfaces such as frames, mugs, and shirts and offers an unlimited range of colors. Sublimation is permanent and less prone to fading, as the ink is embedded in the fabric or substrate rather than simply laying on top like a normal print.

WHY SUBLIMATION PRINTING?

Sublimation is outstanding for fine lines and details, and arguably one of the best methods for all-over printing. The longevity of the design is a plus point, with a design that won’t crack, peel or fade. Even after going through the washing machine countless times, your garment will never be demoted to the back of your wardrobe! It is suitable for small batch orders, seam-to-seam designs and garments with a large number of design variations and applications.

But, it isn’t great for natural fabrics, requiring 80-85% poly-blends, and the white areas are left unprinted so it is not ideal for darker fabrics.

DETAILS

Screenprint produces sharp edges but due to the digital methods that sublimation printing uses, the level of detail is so intricate. Not only can you print in photographic quality, but the detail is so outstanding you can even show brushstrokes.

COLORS

Sublimation Printing can print any number of colors in one swoop. Colors can be extraordinarily brilliant due to the bonding of the dye to the transparent fibers of the synthetic fabric, truly continuous tones can be achieved that are equivalent to photographs, without the use special techniques such as half-screen printing, and the image can be printed all over the entire item from edge to edge.
